Ye, the American rapper, record producer, and fashion designer formerly known as Kanye West, has once again attracted attention with his vocal support for Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently facing serious legal allegations.
Despite their history of disagreements, Ye called on President Donald Trump to intervene on Combs’ behalf and criticised the music industry for its perceived lack of support.
In a series of posts on X/Twitter on Thursday, 6th February, Ye publicly defended Combs, whom he referred to as his “brother.”
One tweet directly addressed the U.S president, stating: “@realDonaldTrump, please free my brother Puff.”

Shortly thereafter, Ye, who legally changed his name in 2018, announced a new Yeezy fashion collaboration with Combs.
“I’m selling the Sean John collaboration that me and my brother spoke about before they locked him up we splitting the profits 50/50,” he wrote.
The collection consists of five plain T-shirts, each featuring the “Sean John” logo, the fashion label owned by Combs.

On 16th September 2024, Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested by U.S. Homeland Security on suspicion of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and interstate transportation for prostitution. He pleaded not guilty to all charges on 17th September, but has been denied bail twice.
Combs recently received hospital treatment in Brooklyn for a knee injury before being returned to his cell.
In addition to these criminal charges, Combs faces multiple civil lawsuits alleging sexual assault, including one in which Jay-Z is named as a co-defendant. Several of the accusers in these lawsuits are minors, one of whom is reportedly ten years old.
A conviction on these charges could result in a life sentence.
