Ex-Minister Kabiru Turaki Granted ₦1 Million Bail Over False Marriage, Adultery, and Criminal Intimidation Charges

A magistrate court in Abuja has granted ₦1 million bail to former Minister of Special Duties, Kabiru Turaki (SAN), after he was arraigned for false marriage, adultery, and criminal intimidation.

Turaki, who pleaded not guilty, is accused of deceiving a woman, Hadiza Musa Baffa, into believing they were married and cohabiting with her for years.

According to court documents: Between 2014 and 2016, he allegedly lived with Hadiza at Han’s Place Hotel. From 2016 to 2021, they continued their relationship at Ideal Home Holiday, Asokoro. In 2021, he rented an apartment for her at No. 12 Clement Akpagbo Close, Guzape, where they lived together.

Hadiza later gave birth to a baby girl, but Turaki allegedly denied paternity and even threatened her and the child’s life.

The court set bail at ₦1M, with two sureties, and scheduled the trial for March 11, 2025.
