Two men suspected of being herders have killed a 16-year-old girl after a failed rape attempt in Emure-Ekiti in the Emure Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
The incident happened on Sunday, 9th February 2025, when the girl and her brother were on their way to the farm. The siblings were waylaid by two men, but the brother escaped.
The teenage girl was killed for allegedly resisting attempts by the men to rape her. The spokesperson for the State Police Command, SP Sunday Abutu, who confirmed the incident to TVC News on Monday morning, 10th February, said two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder.
The PPRO added that he would release further details later.
