Three Arrested for Transformer Cable Vandalism in Adamawa

Three men have been apprehended by officers of the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly vandalising transformer cables in the Girei Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects arrested are Rabiu Ali, 28, Muhammad Musa, 42, and Abubakar Usman, 18, all of various addresses.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, says that the accused conspired with three others, now at large, and vandalised the cables.

SP Yahaya Nguroje added that the command’s officers acted on credible information received on 6th February 2025, which led to the suspects’ arrest.

According to him, those apprehended allegedly vandalised the transformer cables at Wuro Dole, which connect part of Girei and Wuro Dole.

“The Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, commended the DPO Girei and his men for their effective policing services. He directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the CID to take over the case for a discreet investigation and to pursue the fleeing suspects.

The Police Chief urges members of the public to report anyone seen near an electrical transformer for immediate action,” SP Nguroje said.

He assured that those arrested would be charged in court for prosecution upon completion of the investigation.
