Ogun Police Search for Woman After Officer Found Dead in Hotel

The Ogun State Police Command has begun a search for an unidentified woman following the death of Inspector Haruna Mohammed in a hotel at Anthony Uzum Estate, Oyeyemi Akute.

Inspector Mohammed, who served with the Ishashi Division of the Lagos State Police Command, checked into the Super G Hotel with the woman at approximately 1:00 am on Saturday, 15th February, 2025.

According to Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the woman left the hotel shortly after. The officer’s body was discovered in the room at 8:52 am by the hotel manager, who found the door unlocked.

The woman had reportedly visited the hotel reception around 6:00 am to request tap water before her disappearance. The police have classified the officer’s death as “unnatural.”

“At first, only a uniform was found in his bag, so it was not immediately possible to confirm he was a police officer. There was no identification card on him or among his belongings,” the PPRO stated. “However, further investigation revealed that the deceased was an inspector of police serving with the Ishashi Division in the Lagos Command. The DPO has been contacted, and his body has been identified. We have launched a manhunt for the fleeing woman.”
