A 49-year-old Police Sergeant, Constance Mosibudu Sathekge, has been arrested for killing her 24-year-old son and his 16-year-old girlfriend in South Africa.
Sathekge, stationed at Botlokwa Police Station, Limpopo, on Monday, 17th February 2025, appeared in the Morebeng Magistrates’ Court facing two counts of murder.

It is alleged that on 13th February 2025, at Botlokwa, the deceased persons, Khutso Sathekge (son) and Naledi Mmonwa (girlfriend to Khutso), were shot and killed by Khutso’s mother.
Both deceased persons were found with several gunshot wounds and were taken to the hospital. However, they succumbed to their injuries upon arrival.

After the incident, the accused then called the police, and she was immediately arrested. Sergeant Sathekge claimed that the shooting was in self-defence during an argument when Khutso threatened her with a knife.
The matter was postponed to 24th February 2025 for a formal bail application, and the accused remains in custody.
