Nigeria’s Visa on Arrival Policy Not Scrapped, But Upgraded for Greater Efficiency – Minister

The Minister of the Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has stated that Nigeria’s Visa on Arrival policy is not being scrapped, but rather upgraded to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Dr Tunji-Ojo made this announcement during a meeting with the Director-General of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), Princess Zarah Audu, in Abuja.

The Minister explained that travellers would still be able to apply online for short-stay visas, with approvals being granted within 24 to 48 hours. He further added that once approved, the visa would be sent to the applicant’s email, eliminating the need for a physical sticker upon arrival.

Dr Tunji-Ojo remarked that this upgrade builds on the existing online approval system, streamlining the process and allowing travellers to receive their approvals in advance.
