Six Arrested in Yobe Over Police Officer Killings

The Yobe State Police Command has detained a minimum of six individuals suspected of involvement in the deaths of two police officers at Kolere village, located within the Fune Local Government Area of the state.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC Operations) Abdu Abubakar Ozo disclosed this information to journalists following a routine State Security Council meeting. The meeting was chaired by the state’s Deputy Governor, Idi Barde Guban.

It is noted that a group of prominent gang leaders overpowered two police officers, DSP Ali Pindar and DSP Jantuku Philibus, which resulted in their tragic deaths.

In his briefing to the press, DCP Ozo stated that between five and six individuals, believed to have connections to the demise of the two police officers, have been apprehended. These suspects are currently held at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further questioning.

He further indicated that the state police command has deployed additional personnel to search for other individuals implicated in the officers’ deaths.
