Democrats Refuse to Stand as President Trump Makes 13-Year-Old Brain Cancer Survivor a Secret Service Agent During Speech to Congress

President Donald Trump used his address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, 4th March, to unveil a new member of the U.S. Secret Service — a 13-year-old brain cancer survivor named DJ.

Trump said the boy, DJ Daniel, who was dressed in a Houston police uniform and sitting with his father in the gallery of the House of Representatives for the speech, had always dreamed of becoming a police officer.

“Tonight, we are joined by a young man who truly loves our police,” Trump said after praising America’s law enforcement officers, to loud applause from the room.

“Doctors gave him a maximum of five months to live. That was more than six years ago. Since then, DJ and his father have been searching to make his dream come true. And tonight, DJ, we will do you the greatest honor of all. I am asking our new Director of the Secret Service, Sean Curran, to officially make you an agent of the United States,” the US president declared.

DJ was sworn in as an honorary law enforcement officer at police agencies across the country.

The 13-year-old’s eyes grew wide with surprise when Trump announced that the director of the Secret Service would be presenting him with his agent ID before his father held it up for the crowd to see. The DJ proudly held up his new ID and was greeted with applause and cheers, except for the Democrats, who refused to stand or applaud the young Secret Agent.
